Photoshop Patterns: Flower Power

Today’s design freebie is one of our very special Photoshop patterns, this one a series of flowers at 50% opacity, with another layer of white circles of various sizes. The design was inspired by Igor Melgaco, an incredible Brazilian artist who works with geometric shapes and color to create stunning effects. Download patterns for free–set of eight different colored patterns included in the Photoshop download. The pattern is shown at actual size above–since it’s so large (640 x 640 pixels), you can’t really tell it’s a pattern.

Originally, the pattern was going to be available as both a vector Illustrator pattern and a Photoshop pattern, but Pathfinder’s crop tool doesn’t take transparency into account, so best I could do was add a clipping mask to the design and take it into Photoshop to define it as a pattern. So no vector patterns for this one, unless one of yous finds a way to get around the opacity issue in Illy.
