Um… Basically, I had previously worked designing promotional material for night clubs, so I’m used to having to make bold eye catching designs – But now that I get to actually design for pleasure as well as pay, I find that I really enjoy making simpler designs and images, that have one main focus, not a huge scene going on, but one main detailed focus. I normally don’t make such bright images, but I was in a good mood and wanted to make just something cheerful and simple – Hence the Happy Daisies were born

Terms of use are that it is free for personal use, as desktop wallpaper etc, but any use otherwise, in photo manipulations, etc needs to have a link crediting me with the original image. Besides that I don’t mind if it’s used, just as long as credit is given.

This incredible free desktop wallpaper is from guest artist baspunk, who has created this winter scene micro image of a snowflake crystal perched on a dark burgundy leaf, with grunge/worn edges and a great lens blurring effect around the edges of the wallpaper. Baspunk is an incredible photographer, so be sure to check out his other work on deviantArt.

Wallpaper size is 1600 x 1200 pixels, so it should be big enough for all screens.

Artist Description

Recently I came with an idea of making something in Gimp while listening to music. I was listening to Professor Kliq – Ashes (The Glide remix) and this is what came out. The music put me in a mood to create something related to Marvel’s graphic novels or comic books like Spiderman or Spawn (I mean the shading, colour and print effect). There are 3 files in the pack: 1600×1200, 1600×900, and 1280×960. Hope you like it.

Note from the Artist

This work was originally created for a pre-ski party-poster. In the south of Sweden were I live we have a tradition of going to the French or Austrian alps during v.7. My friends like to get ready for this by having a night club event. I got the inspiration from all the times I’ve been skiing during those weeks. I especially admire the snowboarders and skiers that have the courage to go in to the funparks and take the on the big-jumps and half-pipes. To reflect the feeling of action and movement I decided to deconstruct the snowboarder.
